Access and borrowing
Membership policy
In brief, if you are a member of the Anglican or Methodist Church - minister, student or parishioner, you are welcome to register as a borrower.
Students and faculty of the School of Theology, University of Auckland, and those associated with churches with whom we have reciprocal arrangments are also welcome to contact the library about membership.
Others who do not fit the above categories may be granted membership on payment of a fee.
Members are entitled to borrow books, and to access our electronic databases and full text periodicals.
Anyone is welcome to visit the library and to read material while there.

Borrowing policy
The normal loan period for all borrowers is one month. Monthly loans are subject to recall within three days if requested by another borrower, or a fine of $1 per day will be charged.
Books not available for loan
Books from the following collections are for use in the library only, and are not able to be borrowed
Reference collection New Zealand and Pacific Church Collection Baumber Collection Periodicals Rare books Theses and dissertations Books on the new books display (these may be borrowed after the one week display period)
Short loan collection
Books placed on short loan for St John's College Anglican Studies Programme, Trinity Methodist College courses and the School of Theology at the University of Auckland, are available from library staff for use in the library only. Your library card is held while you use this material.
Short loan books can be borrowed on overnight and weekend loans, and may be collected 15 minutes prior to the library closing. Such items must be returned as soon as the library opens the following morning.

Overdue fines
Books on semester loan become overdue the day after the due date stamped in the back of the book. Overdue notices are emailed or posted shortly after this date. Please check the due dates of your books, as there is no warning notice, and $1 per book is charged at the time of the first overdue notice.
If a scond notice has to be sent, there is a fine of $2.50 per book.
Failure to return a book after this notice will result in an invoice for the full replacement cost of the book plus a handling fee.
