The Archive collections
The John Kinder Theological Library is the repository for archives and manuscripts relating to the Anglican Church at a national rather than local level. These sub group descriptions below provide an over view of holdings. The collection includes original material - written, oral, video and photographic - as well as microfilm and photocopies.
There are a number of sub collections within the collection. These are summarised below, and can be identified by the prefix to the archives number, eg ANG, KIN or SJC. Archives outside of these areas are not collected

The official archives of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa New Zealand and Polynesia (formerly the Church of the Province of New Zealand), which are held on deposit for the Church. The Anglican Archives Committee has oversight of these records Note that these archives do not include diocesan and parish records, or registers of baptism etc
A miscellaneous collection of groups of archives and manuscripts of people and organisations related to Anglicanism and St John's College. There are also papers of ecumenical bodies
The archives of Trinity Methodist Theological College, Methodist organisations and people, with a focus on early missions in New Zealand and theological education
Microfilm of records held in other repositories, which are complementary to those original papers already held
The archives of the Melanesian Mission Trust Board, which are held on deposit for the Board
The official archives of St John's College and its Board of Oversight (formerly Board of Governors), as well as material related to life at the College
