There is a new display in the library for the St John’s College classes of 1979 to 1981 who held a reunion here over the weekend (22nd-24th July).
This display presents items from the archives held at the John Kinder Theological Library relating to the College of St John the Evangelist. It includes class photographs, college handbooks and ephemera documenting daily student life at the College between 1979 and 1981. Most of this material comes from the College Life Collection (SJC 10) which serves as an active and eclectic document of life at the college.
The display also highlights the anti-apartheid protests during the 1981 Springbok Tour and the students who participated from St John’s College during this divisive time.
